A
good guideline if we do the design:
Every
book has an even number of pages/sides. A Pages = A Side = 1/2
Spread
Bear
in mind that most people want a mix of image sizes in the album
so the above 3 image per side is an average number of images per
side. Some sides would have a single full size image, others sides
with one or two small inset detail shots, some with a mix of two
to six images per side. Maybe a few sides with more images. The
higher the number of images on a side the smaller the images are
displayed.
We
have found estimating price of a digital album using 3 images
per side works well in determining the number of sides of a well
designed album.
Until
the design is finalized and approved you will not know the exact
number of sides or spreads in the album. So be open to small changes.
Album Design is not an exact science by any means.
Select
your images, you should edit them to insure there are not too
many shots duplicated. Photo series can be included to add some
fun and life to the design. Think of scene setting shots and
details for background images if you like that kind of design.
Close-up Details Shots are nice often run small or as a background
image.

Prints
must be sent to us to be permanently mounted in the album
by Classic Album.
Back
of prints must be clean from pen/sharpie markings, etc.
OK for lab imprint. All other personal notations must be
cleaned off. If prints are received with such markings,
we will have to clean the back of the prints with PEC 12,
an archival cleaning solution. It does not remove ink from
writing pens. A cleaning charge of $25.00/hour will be charged.
If you have ink markings on back of prints, this will bleed
through mounting process and appear on print! Reprint
images with ink pen on back of print. Classic is proud
of their albums, they may reject your ink marked prints!
This will add expense and special couriers and delay your
order.
Number prints on back with page number with a 6B pencil
obtained from art supply store or use 3M Post-It Notes
and put on print face using # 2 pencil. No ink pens
please. Do NOT press hard as it will show through face of
print and make your lovely album less than it could be.

CLASSIC
ALBUM PDF All you need to know.
Once
all this is done , the prints are then forwarded to AlbumArt
for inspection, then to Classic Albums for permanent mounting
in your album. The prints are sprayed with water based protective
clear lacquer to seal the prints from damage.
NOTE:
It is best if you have access to your negatives in case a
print gets damaged in handling/mounting, or has a defect caught
by Classic, so that a reprint can be made. |
